Business Process Assessment
The team reviewed the company's existing processes and gathered requirements from key departments.

A pharmaceutical company based in Dubai was managing operations across multiple departments, including procurement, inventory, production, quality control, sales, finance, and distribution. With growing transaction volumes, the company needed better coordination between departments and more centralized access to business information.
The existing fragmented systems made it difficult to maintain consistent data and manage workflows efficiently. The company decided to restructure its ERP environment to create a more integrated system that could support its pharmaceutical operations. Digital Links was engaged as the ERP implementation consultant to assess the existing setup, identify configuration and workflow gaps, and implement a more structured ERP environment.

The company had previously worked with another ERP implementation company for ERP implementation. However, the ERP system had been implemented without a complete understanding of the company's pharmaceutical workflows. This resulted in inconsistent configurations across procurement, inventory, sales, finance, and production.
Digital Links began the project with a detailed review of the existing ERP configuration and business processes. Instead of directly modifying the system, the team first studied how each department was using the ERP and where the existing setup was creating operational gaps.
Stakeholder discussions were conducted with procurement, warehouse, finance, sales, production, and management teams to understand their requirements and identify workflow challenges.
Digital Links then mapped the existing processes against the required ERP workflows. Particular attention was given to batch tracking, expiry management, inventory control, procurement, product movement, and traceability. Based on the assessment, an implementation roadmap was prepared to prioritize critical issues and restructure the ERP environment.

Stakeholder discussions were conducted with procurement, warehouse, finance, sales, production, and management teams to understand their requirements and identify workflow challenges.
Procurement workflows were reorganized to improve coordination between purchasing requirements, supplier transactions, incoming products, and inventory availability. This helped create a more structured flow of information from purchasing to warehouse operations.
Inventory processes were configured to provide better visibility into stock levels, product movements, batch details, and expiry dates. The objective was to reduce dependency on disconnected records and manual tracking.
Production workflows were aligned with inventory and material requirements to improve coordination between production activities and available stock.
The sales processes were better aligned with inventory and finance processes. This brought down the information gaps in transactions, availability of stocks and financial records.
Distribution processes were set up to ensure the visibility of the product flow along all its steps from the inventory towards delivery and easier tracking possibility.
One of the major components of the project was setting up the ERP system to cater to the company's pharmaceutical needs. Important features that were discussed in detail were batch and expiry date management, which is crucial for the correct identification and traceability of pharmaceutical products.
Digital Links set up appropriate workflows for more systematic documentation and monitoring of batches in inventory and product movement.
The system was also designed to give a better overview of stock levels and stock movements. The ERP implementation was configured to match the company's actual processes to bridge gaps that were created by the previous generic configuration.

Digital Links followed a structured ERP implementation consultant UAE approach throughout the project.
